The style that combines a little free-spirited bohemian and the good-old-fashioned simplicity of the Wild West, cowgirl chic is one of the most popular styles among younger women today. Now, it’s important to note there’s a right way to do it and a wrong way, a really wrong way. When you think of cowgirl chic, you might have a simple impression of the boots, a hat, some jeans, and a long-sleeved flannel. This concept is a little outdated.

Cowgirl Chic Jewelry
Now, I’ve talked a lot about turquoise, but maybe that’s not your thing, which is completely fine. Silver jewelry is something that Southwestern and Native American artists take very seriously and you might be better off with a simple approach with your style. Turquoise and coral pieces are emphasized by the minimalist nature of your outfit. If you want your own features to stand out, I would suggest going with plain silver pieces instead.
Cowgirl Chic Boots
Let’s move along to boots. Yes, you’ve seen the tired cliché over and over again. I have placed two different boots above. The one on the top is probably what you think about when I say “cowgirl.” I would say the entire outfit in the picture on the bottom is the wrong way to go with this particular look. You really want something more like the previous images I’ve given.
The main idea of Cowgirl Chic is to take from the past and merge it with modern styles to create something new. The image on the bottom does a really nice job, giving the look of quality tanned leather but remains modern with the cut and design. Darker colors also go well with Earth-tones and you’re less limited because of it.
